I’ve finally come around to sharing my goals for 2016! I always try to create goals at the beginning of the year, but I evaluate them throughout the year to see if I am on track…. and then I forget about it. Sounds about normal right? Towards the end of last year, I really started getting into using my planner more and staying on track with my tasks. I have heard so much about the Inkwell Press planners and one thing that made me decide to purchase it, is that it is very goal focused. It encourages me to think beyond just my professional and financial goals, but is helping look at my life with a more holistic approach. I’m going to share with you the goals that I wrote down in my very pretty planner. I’m determined to use it daily to keep me on track, but also because it was quite the investment for a planner.
Social // I’ve honestly never thought about having social goals. I am more of an introvert and home body, but what I really want to focus on this year is making time each month to have “me time” and time with my girlfriends. I also want start participating in activities or events that will encourage and allow to make new friendships.
Financial // After the wedding, I really want to payoff my student loan debt. I’m fortunate that it is not huge and something that I can payoff in the next few years, but I want to focus on getting that off my “debt” plate. While I want to spend money to payoff this debt, I also want to really start saving for our first home. Mike and I both dream of being homeowners and we know that this is something we want to really save for and focus on in the next few years.
Health // This year I want to focus on being more active daily. Work can really pull you in, and even when I’m working from home I can barely get 3,000 steps. I’m going to try to hold myself more accountable by trying to where my fitbit more often. As far as diet goes, I’m going to try to eat leaner and greener by eating less processed foods. I have been doing a lot better with my diet, but it’s still not as good as I would like it to be.
Home // Decluttering and routine are two biggies for me. I would like to *try* to simplify the home and focus on filling our homes with things that we truly love. With the thought of home buying on my brain and knowing that it could be just a few short years down the line, I would rather purchase items that I know will last through our apartment and future home. We have been doing a lot better with setting a cleaning routine, but I would like to create time for more deep cleaning.
What are your goals for 2016? Do you have any categories that are different from mine?
Thanks for reading!
