Our Weekend

So this post is a little late, but better late than never! This weekend was pretty nice and it started out with dinner with some friends Friday night at The Lucky Monk in South Barrington. It was wonderful getting to catch up with a great couple!

Saturday started out early as I ended up dropping Mike off at his parents so he could go to an air show in Wisconsin, which me have time to explore a little bit.

They say early bird gets the worm, so I headed to a local coffee shop in Libertyville, Hansa Coffee just as they opened. It was a really cute industrial / hipster coffee place. The Mocha was delicious.

Since it was still early, I decided to hop on over to Independence Grove for a quick morning stroll. By 7:30 AM it was already pretty warm out, so I kept my walk pretty quick. It is so beautiful though in the morning, and when it’s quiet and there are only a few people out – that’s my favorite.

After my stroll, I headed over to my parents house and spent the day with them. It was nice getting to spend the time with them, as the last few weekends have been really busy. My mom and I also headed to Jo-Ann and spent a good hour+ browsing for bridal veil supplies. We were sort of successful, although we ended up purchasing the wrong color tulle!  No worries though because I picked up some tulle today that matches better. Who knew there were so many colors of Ivory!

Last week I took advantage of the MPix (recommended by our photographer) 25% off prints sale and had a few of our engagement pics printed. They turned out so beautifully and the quality is a lot better than Walgreens :)!

Also arrived last week was our new duvet cover that I picked up during West Elm’s 4th of July Sale! I love all white bedding and wanted a duvet cover to rotate with our existing one. I love textured cotton and this one is beautiful and a total steal at around $50 for a King Size duvet cover that originally retails for over $200! It’s also made of organic cotton, pretty neat!

Thanks for reading!
