Guest Post: The 5 Beauty Products Every Woman Should Own

Today I want to welcome Libby from A Lover’s Anthology on the blog today! Libby is pretty much a beauty queen in the fact that she is not only gorgeous, but also in the fact that she literally knows SO much about beauty.  I couldn’t think of a better person to share beauty advice for the new year, than her. So lets give her a big thanks! XOXO!

When Julie asked me to write a guest post here on The Splendid Life, we went back and forth about a few different topics. She knows that I’m majorly obsessed with beauty, so we narrowed in on that topic pretty quickly, but we were torn between two different niches: skincare vs. beauty. I love skincare, I’m so passionate about it, but it’s hard to write 5 universal suggestions since everyone’s skincare regimen should really be so personal. And lipstick and eyeshadow is endless fun, but you only need so much. And what about hair? I love good hair. In the end, I realized that we should talk about all of it! Why limit ourselves, ya know? So, without further ado, here are the 5 things that every woman’s beauty routine should include:
1. Wet Brush
I set out last year to really grow out my hair. After years of damage, I was willing to do anything to get my hair to grow back to the length it was in highschool before I started dying it every 6-8 weeks. My best friend suggested that I try the Wet Brush for brushing my hair right out of the shower and I have never looked back. It has incredible bristles that detangle wet hair without pulling out strands or damaging your hair. It’s magic as far as I am concerned and it has single handedly changed the health of my hair. Also, it’s only $7, so you have no excuse not to pick one up.

2. Deep Conditioner / Hair Mask
If you want healthy hair, you have to deep condition your hair. It’s really not an option. “But I condition my hair every time I wash it!”  is probably what you’re saying right now, but it’s not the same. Deep Conditioners and Hair Masks are basically a highly concentrated conditioner meant to restore damaged hair, repair split ends when possible and add life back to your hair. If you deep condition once a week, your hair will make you feel like a brand new gal.

3.     Eyelash Curler
An eyelash curler is the one thing I would grab if I was forced out of my home by a fire. I can’t live without mine! A good eyelash curl makes your eyes look huge and enhances any length lashes. No mascara can do its job fully without having curled lashes first and once you see the difference you’ll be blown away by the results. You’ll never look back!

Favorites: Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler (the best ever, ever, ever), Japonesque Double Pad Eyelash Curler

4.     Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Yes, I know, I just told you that every woman has a unique set of skincare needs, but what every woman should include in her skincare routine is the Aztec Mask. It’s a deep cleansing, all natural clay mask that pulsates when you apply it. It pulls all impurities out of your skin and makes your skin seriously soft. No matter what your skin is like, a deep cleansing mask helps keep your complexion even and free of blemishes. If you have perfect skin (I’m jealous!) just use this mask once or twice a month, or if you have problematic skin like me use it once or twice a week. You’ll be more than pleased with the results. Just don’t forgot to exfoliate the day after you do the mask to get all the dead skin cells off the surface of your skin!

5.  Pink Lipgloss
I ride or die by red lipstick and I think every woman should find just the right shade of red for their skintone, but the more I talk to girls about their beauty routine, I realize that nothing is more important than finding the perfect pink lipgloss. Why? Because it’s perfect for everyday and it goes with ev.ery.thing. I’ve found 2-3 that I love and use everyday

Perfect Pink Gloss

Of course the above 5 aren’t inclusive of the best of the beauty world, and there are a ton of other products that we could obsess over, but these 5 are my tried and true favorites– the products that have never betrayed me or done me wrong. If I’m being honest, I really don’t know if I could ever go back to not using them!

What are your favorites? Anything I should know about!
